- Dum Spiro Spero continues the death metal sound from The Marrow of A Bone and UROBOROS but draws influence from grindcore, funeral doom metal, black metal and mathcore.
- The album artwork was designed by Koji Yoda, and depicts Tara, the Mother of Liberation in Tibetan Buddhism.
- The twelfth track, "Hageshisa to..." was released earlier in 2009 as a single. It was featured in the Saw 3D soundtrack
