HIZAKI (緋咲) is a Japanese musician known for being the guitarist and co-founder of the Visual Kei Symphonic Metal band Versailles, as well as Jupiter and his solo project HIZAKI grace project.

He has been considered one of the most recognized guitarists and exponents of the current Visual Kei scene, mainly due to his technic as a guitarist closer to European metal, being mostly influenced by western heavy, power and neoclassical metal bands and guitarists.

Biography[]

Hizaki was born on February 17, 1979 in Shiga Prefecture, Kyoto. From his early years, he developed a taste for classical music, which generated in him the need to start playing the violin. However, his parents refused to let him play the instrument as well as the piano.

As time went by, when he was in elementary school, his older brother acquired a guitar with which he used to practice. Hizaki mentions that when he played it for the first time, he "dove into music."

While he started playing the guitar, he began to compose his own songs, because according to him, he was bothered by playing other people's songs. Influenced by bands like LOUDNESS and X Japan, he continued practicing in a self-taught way.

His life in high school was somewhat gloomy, since he felt alone from not having people with similar tastes to his and the difficulty of joining school bands, mainly because his level of practice was already more advanced than the rest of his classmates.

At some point during this period of time Hizaki considered quitting playing the guitar, but after graduating he began to attend different live houses in Kyoto, places where he was finally able to meet people with whom he could agree musically and who returned to him his motivation to continue playing the guitar.
